چکیده

Hazard function plays an important role in reliability and survival analysis. In some real life applications, abrupt changes in the hazard function may be observed and it is of interest to detect the location and the size of the change. Hazard models with a changepoint are considered when the observations are subject to random left truncation and right censoring. For a piecewise constant hazard function with a single change-point, two estimation methods based on the maximum likelihood ideas are considered. The first method assumes parametric families of distributions for the censoring and truncation variables, whereas the second one is based on conditional likelihood approaches. A simulation study is carried out to illustrate the performances of the proposed estimators. The results indicate that the fully parametric method performs better especially for estimating the size of the change, however the difference between the twomethods vanish as the sample size increases. It is also observed that the full likelihood approach is not robust to model misspecification. © 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Estimation and Reconstruction Based on Left Censored Data from Pareto Model

In this paper, based on a left censored data from the twoparameter Pareto distribution, maximum likelihood and Bayes estimators for the two unknown parameters are obtained. The problem of reconstruction of the past failure times, either point or interval, in the left-censored set-up, is also considered from Bayesian and non-Bayesian approaches. Two numerical examples and a Monte Carlo simulatio...

Non-Bayesian Estimation and Prediction under Weibull Interval Censored Data

In this paper, a one-sample point predictor of the random variable X is studied. X is the occurrence of an event in any successive visits $L_i$ and $R_i$ :i=1,2…,n (interval censoring). Our proposed method is based on finding the expected value of the conditional distribution of X given $L_i$ and $R_i$ (i=1,2…,n). To make the desired prediction, our approach is on the basis of approximating the...

Heteroscedastic Censored and Truncated Regression with crch

The crch package provides functions for maximum likelihood estimation of censored or truncated regression models with conditional heteroscedasticity along with suitable standard methods to summarize the fitted models and compute predictions, residuals, etc. The supported distributions include leftor right-censored or truncated Gaussian, logistic, or student-t distributions with potentially diff...

PHMPL: a computer program for hazard estimation using a penalized likelihood method with interval-censored and left-truncated data.

The Cox model is the model of choice when analyzing right-censored and possibly left-truncated survival data. The present paper proposes a program to estimate the hazard function in a proportional hazards model and also to treat more complex observation schemes involving general censored and left-truncated data. The hazard function estimator is defined non-parametrically as the function which m...

Point Prediction for the Proportional Hazards Family under Progressive Type-II Censoring

In this paper, we discuss dierent predictors of times to failure of units censored in multiple stages in a progressively censored  sample from proportional hazard rate models. The maximum likelihood predictors, best unbiased predictors and conditional median predictors are considered. We also consider Bayesian point predictors for the times to failure of units. A numerical example and a Monte C...
